Matariki T2W

Hi guys! 

Its Matariki week so for reading it was about Matariki! Its quite an exiting week of the year. If you don't know what Matariki is its about 7 stars or sisters that are in the sky that shine at night. Its also to celebrate Moari new year. For create task one, I had to write a summary about Matariki videos and writings. For create task 2 i had to choose either a Venn diagram,Tawhirimatea rewrite the story,animate or a word find. I chose animate and word find for word find we also had to make a glossary about the Moari words that was in the word find. I hope you like my Matariki blog post! Enjoy

Student Summit

Hey guys!

This week i gone to Hornby primary school to do my student summit! I gone to 4 types of presentations the first one was how to use book creator. The second was Wevideo its similar to Imovie. The third was stop motion animator. You could create picture by picture videos. The last presentation was scratch Jr its scratch but easier.Here is a link to see all our student summit presentations. Click Me You could learn how to use those things after watching the presentations. I was quite nervous to go and do some of the choices. Last year in 2020 i was also chosen to do the student summit, We had to do it on zoom calls. But this year 2021 we had to go to Hornby primary school. My favorite presentation was scratch it wasn't confusing it was easy to learn and it was fun to try!

T2W7 Reading

Hey guys!

WALT: Make connections between ourselves, other texts and the world.

For today's week i have been reading about old books our teachers loved in the past! I picked you are special. Its about town that was created by this one guy named Eli. He made human like figures that he called wemmiks. They were given a box of dots and stars. The wemmiks who were talented got stars but the ones who barely had talent got dots. And one of the non talented wemmiks was punchinello. Well i guess this is enough of spoiling the story.

 For create task one i had to make a connection to the story and for create task 2 i made a Venn diagram. I couldn't do create task 3 or 4 because i got quite confused on create task 1. Create task one was quite difficult because i couldn't think of something that we both had a connection too. But after a while i managed to fill in some of the gaps. But i still hope you enjoy today's blog post! Enjoy    

Reading The longest story

Hey guys!

WALT: Evaluate ideas and information in a narrative text. The book i had for reading was called the longest story. I rewrote the story and a also rewrote the challenge and complementary text. The story was was about a girl called Abena there was a contest her father set up. A young man had to make the longest story. My complementary text was about a spider who wanted to be the owner of stories. The challenge was about a chief who liked stories he wanted a good storyteller who could make him laugh or the longest story. I'm sorry if I'm spoiling them but its just the start but i hope you like my reading work! Enjoy

Changing the last paragraph

The young man started his story. “There was a mother bird who laid 3 eggs. The eggs cracked open and 3 chicks came out. The chicks got hungry so the mother  bird went out to get worms. She came back with worms she fed the 3 chicks. They got hungry again so she went out again. She came back with worms. She fed the 3 chicks.They got hungry again so she went out again. She came back with worms.

14 hours later...

S-she c-ame back… (People in the background snoring) a-and she fed the 3 l-little c-c-chicks.” The young man stops and falls asleep.  He had stopped. He had won while everyone fell asleep. When everybody woke up. The father had decided the winner. “The young man who will marry my daughter is… You! The young man who talked for 14 hours straight you won!” Abena didn't like him. She begged her father to choose the second place winner. “ I'm sorry there was a mistake. You are the one who won second place you win!” wha- said the first place man. But I won?” “don't talk back,” said Abenas father. The young man walked away disappointed.

Reading Taniwha Trouble

Hey guys!

My reading WALT today is-Evaluate ideas and information in a narrative text.

For the first week of term 2, I’ve been making my reading blog post and my book

is called Taniwha trouble! A Taniwha is an ocean legend if you didn't know.

My book was about a Taniwha stuck inside the heating pumps.And this kid

named Noah got his caretaker to get it out. For my complementary and

challenge text . It was also about The Taniwha legend.

My plan

My Twist for the last paragraph

“Ok,” he said. I'd better let it go now. It needs some really dark muddy water. I'll take it across to the waiwhetu stream.” Just then a kid opened the lid to take a better look. “Flop” Just then the Taniwha jumped out of the jar and the black gooey water slid down the desk. The Taniwha had escaped! Shouted a kid. He was pointing at the Taniwha on the floor just like a snake about to bite. Mr Blackadder walked slowly to the Taniwha he tried to scoop the Taniwha with his hands but it was too slippery it slipped out just like water. It aimed for the mysterious hole in the classroom. It swam so fast to the mysterious hole like a rat getting chased. Nobody could catch up and it was too slippery to hold. “Welp it escaped” a kid said disappointed. The Taniwha had escaped. Lots of kids were disappointed. They wanted to keep it as a pet but Mr Blackadder didn't allow it. So he decided to bring it to the waiwhetu stream. And the school didn't have dark muddy water. The end!

ANZAC create task
